The text presents an extensive selection of documents from the Empathic Movement: from the “Manifesto on the Arts” (2019) by Lerro and Pelliccia to the key points identified as necessary for this new current that opposes decades of individualism and separation of artistic expressions. New cultural proposals are also presented that advocate the unity of knowledge and creativity: they are texts representative of the thinking of some of the main animators of the Movement – Lerro, Pelliccia, Vairetti, Galliani, Mussida, Lanzetti, Parsi. A choral empathic feeling tries to embrace the other from an artistic-literary point of view to the point of opening up to social, ethical and political issues. Many other voices make the volume a tool for internalizing the reasons for this exciting phase of the new millennium in which Artists show the strength to react to the harsh and unexpected adversities that life can impose, such as the Covid-19 Pandemic. The debate will be enriched by many visual artists, academic professors, narrators, poets of Contemporary times – such as Cucchi, De Angelis, Magrelli, Carifi, De Silva, Nigro, Maraini, de Giovanni – and the former Nobel Prize winner for Literature Olga Tokarczuck.
