Menotti Lerro and Najwan Darwish: we unite the world through empathic poetry
Nel 2011 la Cambridge Scholars Publishing diede alle stampe il testo di Selected Poems (di natura anche critica) di Andrew Mangham (professore presso l’Università di Reading, UK) dal titolo The Poetry of Menotti Lerro.
Nel 2024 la Yale University Press ha dato alle stampe il testo di Selected Poems tradotte da Kareem James Abu-Zeid di Najwan Darwish.
La mia figura è presentata come “One of the most interesting poets of Modern-day Europe” (uno dei poeti più interessanti dell’Europa moderna), mentre il poeta palestinese come “One of the most important poets of the Arabic-speaking world” (uno dei più importanti poeti del mondo di lingua araba).
Nel 2023 fui lieto di conferire proprio a Najwan il Cilento International Poetry Prize, poiché credo (e lo crediamo entrambi) che insieme possiamo lanciare al mondo un forte segnale di unione nel nome del nostro Movimento Empatico (Empathism):
